ABOUT

Dan was educated at Parsons School of Design and Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation in New York City. After completing his education, he moved to Colorado in 1992 and worked in Denver for six years. In 1998 Dan joined Coburn Development’s design team in Boulder. Over the next 15 years he participated projects in Boulder, Fort Collins, Crested Butte, Snowmass Village and other communities throughout Colorado. With a focus on urban infill, neighborhood planning and affordable housing in a design/build context, this experience afforded a unique opportunity to gain an in depth understanding of what it takes to create successful projects while enhancing the civic environment.

In 2013 Dan established an independent practice and in 2016 he joined forces with Ryan Hanneman to form RHAP Architecture and Planning. This partnership has allowed him to build on this background and further develop his community based focus on architecture and planning. Dan is also a member of the City of Boulder’s Technical Review Group for Affordable Housing which has allowed him to further contribute to the creation of inclusionary housing in Boulder.
